Driven over the edge by the death of his beloved wife and himself being the victim of a cryogenic accident, Dr. Victor Fries found himself unable to survive outside a sub-zero environment. Trapped in a special suit that maintains his low body temperature and enables him to stay alive, Mr. Freeze employed his vast knowledge of cryogenics to build a criminal empire.

Following the breakout at Arkham Asylum, Mr. Freeze joined the Riddler's team of villians, and was present as the puzzle-loving crook explained his plan to break into Gotham's Gold Reserve.
Freeze later went with the Riddler to his old ice cream factory base to retrieve a powerful freeze cannon. They fought their way through police guards and eventually reached the room where the cannon was kept. After defrosting an army of Freeze Girls, Mr. Freeze fought the Dynamic Duo and was defeated when his suit's backpack suddenly de-pressurised and flew him against several walls.

In LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Mr. Freeze has the ability of super strength, allowing him to manipulate super strength walls and objects. Mr. Freeze can also use his Freeze ray to freeze enemies and also freeze liquids to form solid platforms.

Mr. Freeze prefers the icy simplicity of his powerful freeze gun. Mr. Freeze also has a small one-man buggy and a motorised iceberg, which he use to travel round the city.
