DC Comics is one of the largest American companies in comic book and related media publishing. A subsidiary of Time Warner (although its byline reads "A Warner Bros. Entertainment Company"), DC is responsible for some of comics' most famous characters, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and their teammates in the Justice League of America.


The initials "DC" were originally an abbreviation for Detective Comics, and later became the company's official name.
