[edit] Origins
Initially an actor in horror films, Basil Karlo went mad when he learned a classic film of his was to be remade with a different actor in the lead role. He took on the mask of the film’s villain, Clayface, and killed several of the remake’s cast and crew before being stopped by Batman and Robin. Later, Karlo joined the Mud Pack, an alliance of shape-changing, mutated villains who had subsequently used the name Clayface. While that group was defeated, Karlo tricked his allies, injecting himself with the essences of several of them, becoming a superhuman imbued with the abilities to change shape, melt others into protoplasm with a touch, and mimic the powers of heroes or villains he copies.
[edit] The Game
After escaping Arkham Asylum, Clayface allied with The Riddler. After participating in a brief crime spree, he met in the villian's base to hear the Riddler's plan to break into the Gotham Gold Reserve. Clayface went with the Riddler to a bank in Gotham to steal the key needed to open the Reserve's vault, and fought Batman and Robin when they arrived.
He was eventually defeated using the bank's security gas pumps, and whilst restrained by Robin tripped over Batman to allow Riddler to escape.
He was subsequently re-incarcerated in Arkham, where he seemed happy spend time making clay pots from his substance.
[edit] Attributes
- Clayface can alter his physical form, adopting the appearance of anyone or anything.
- If those whose appearance he adopts have superpowers, he copies those as well.
- His touch can reduce an enemy to protoplasm.
[edit] Powers and Abilities
In LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Clayface has the ability of super jump, allowing him to jump to heights unattainable by other characters, and perform wall jumps. Clayface also has the ability of superstrength, enabling him to pick up superstrength objects and smash superstrength walls. When attacking, his fists enlarge, and he can fire small portions of his substance at distant enemies.
[edit] Equipment
None, unless you count the weapons most Clayfaces could make from their own clay bodies. This includes swords, hammers, axes and any melee weapon one could imagine.
