Crimefighter Bruce Wayne who uses incredible skills and technology to battle for justice the city of Gotham.

Batman has one of the most interesting comic-book origins. He was known as Bruce Wayne, son of the rich Tomas and Martha Wayne, living in Gotham City. As a young, 8-year-old minifigure, he fell into an underground cave beneath Wayne Manor, and was frightened by a swarm of bats (the cave he fell into would become The Bat-Cave). One night (he was still 8), the Wayne family were returning from "The mask of Zorro", when the criminal Joe Chill held up a gun to them and demanded Martha's pearl necklace. When Tomas refused, Chill shot him down. He did the same to Martha when she yelled for help. In many ways, Bruce also perished that same night (to himself only). It all happened at 10:47, in a part of Gotham now known as "Crime Alley". Bruce vowed that night he'd battle all criminals. He's also hated guns since then. Once grown-up, he wandered the world, gaining skills in martial arts, detective skills, and more. When he returned to Gotham, he prepared to become a crime fighter. He realized he'd need a symbol. Criminals were often superstitious and cowardly. He'd need a symbol that'd strike fear into their hearts. A bat crashing into his study answered that question. He revisited the cave he fell into as a kid, making it the Bat-Cave. He made a crime fighting arsenal, numerous bat-based vehicles, and a frightening bat-suit. He's dedicated his life to fighting evil and protecting the innocent as the caped crusader known as Batman AKA The Dark Knight.

In LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Batman will employ a number of suits, vehicles, and gadgets to fight Gotham's villains. Batman, accompanied by Robin, will appear in every level in Hero mode. Bruce Wayne – Batman's secret identity – will be a playable character in the Wayne Manor bonus level.
